Suncity says Coronavirus will not delay Hoiana’s preopening

The joint venture between Suncity, VinaCapital Group and VMS Investment Group will open in Q1 2020 despite virus outbreak.

Vietnam.- Suncity has said the Coronavirus will not impact the opening of its new Hoaina casino project which is set to open on schedule.

“Our market positioning in Hoiana is quite different compared to Macau,” a Suncity spokesperson to GGRAsia.

“We believe the alert will not affect our pre-soft opening provided we obtain the [local] licence on time,” he added.

Suncity Group confirmed last year that the first phase of Hoiana will open in the first quarter of 2020. The new venue is a joint venture between Suncity, VinaCapital Group and VMS Investment Group.

Suncity recently acquired Philippines-listed company, Suntrust Home Developers, and signed an agreement with the Travellers International Hotel Group to develop and operate a hotel and casino at Travellers’ Westside City Resorts World in Manila, expected to open in 2022.
