Success Universe expects wider H1 loss after Ponte 16 casino closure
The Macau-focused gaming group expects its first-half loss to increase by 50 to 70 per cent, mainly due to the end of casino operations at Ponte 16.
Hong Kong.- Success Universe expects its unaudited consolidated loss for the first half of 2026 to widen to between HKD51m (US.5m) and HKD58m (US.4m), compared with a loss of HKD34m (US.3m) a year earlier. That’s despite a decrease in fair value losses on its overseas-listed equity securities.
The company said the main factor was its share of losses from the associates linked to Ponte 16, following the cessation of casino operations at the property on November 29, 2025. In the first half of 2025, Success Universe had shared approximately HKD49m (US.2m) in profit from the associates.
The figures are based on preliminary management accounts and remain subject to adjustments. Success Universe is still finalising its unaudited interim results, which are expected to be published in late August.
