South Korea’s Paradise Co casino revenue rises in June

South Korea.- Paradise Co has shared its financial results for June. It’s reported casino sales of KRW82.05bn (US$60.3m). That’s a rise of 41 per cent year-on-year and was flat from the preceding month.

Table-game sales were KRW77.29 (US$52.4m), up 41.6 per cent year-on-year. Machine game sales were KRW4.76 (US$3.5m), up 32.7 per cent year-on-year and 1.9 per cent compared to May. For the first half of the year, casino revenue was KRW456.9bn (US$336m), up 8.7 per cent year-on-year. The drop was KRW3.53tn (US$2.60bn), up 1.6 per cent.

Paradise Co operates four casino venues: Walkerhill in Seoul, Jeju Grand on Jeju Island, Busan Casino in the southern port city of Busan, and Paradise City, near the main international airport serving Seoul. It plans to begin construction on a new hotel in Seoul with a target opening date in 2028.

The 18-floor hotel will have approximately 200 suites and five basement levels offering services for foreign VIPs as part of a strategy to attract more international high-rollers. The cost of the development is estimated between KRW500 (US$360m) and KRW550 (US$400m).
