The operator presented scholarships of MOP20,000 each to 36 children of employees.

Macau.- SJM Resorts held its 22nd annual SJM Scholarship Award Ceremony last week at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Lisboa Macau. The company presented scholarships of MOP20,000 (US$2,480) each to 36 children of employees.

The ceremony was attended by executive leadership, including Daisy Ho, managing director of SJM; Angela Leong, director of SJM and chairman of the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee; and Dr. Rui Cunha, Secretary-General of SJM, alongside scholarship recipients and their family members.

Now in its 22nd year, the initiative stands as the longest-running educational support programme among Macau’s concessionaires, according to SJM. For this year’s edition, 10 new scholarship recipients were selected, all of whom have chosen to pursue higher education in Macau, Hong Kong, or Mainland China. Their selected fields of study include technology and innovation, healthcare, and financial services, areas aligned with Macao’s non-gaming economic diversification goals and the Greater Bay Area development strategy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Daisy Ho encouraged students to maintain their intellectual curiosity, apply their knowledge constructively, and contribute to both Macau’s social prosperity and the nation’s broader growth upon graduation.
