Casino Grandview in Macau to shut on Wednesday

The SJM satellite casino will close earlier than anticipated.

Macau.- SJM Resorts has announced that Casino Grandview in Macau will cease operations on Wednesday (30 July), earlier than anticipated. According to a release, all gaming tables currently operating at the satellite casino will be redeployed to SJM’s other casinos.

The company said all local employees will be reassigned to other casinos. Customers holding chips, deposits, or cash rebates accumulated at Casino Grandview that remain unredeemed may visit the cage at Casino Casa Real to arrange follow-up handling from July 31 onwards. 

“Local employees working at Casino Grandview who are not employed by SJM will be invited to apply for related vacancies within the group with priority in hiring in equal circumstances, and will be provided with the necessary support, depending on the actual situation, to facilitate a smooth transition,” the statement reads. 

In June, the government of Macau confirmed that it had received notifications from SJM Resorts, Melco Resorts and Galaxy Entertainment Group that 11 satellite casinos would close by the end of the year. SJM aid it would cease satellite operations at its nine existing satellite casinos, although it is looking to acquire Ponte 16 and L’Arc as self-owned casinos.
