Singapore Pools resumes retail lottery operations
Outlets will reopen on today although the organisation advises players to stay at home and use online methods.
Singapore.- Singapore Pools has announced it will resume lottery operations and that its retail stores will open from today (June 22).
In a press release the firm said: “With Singapore moving into phase 2 of the post-Circuit Breaker period, Singapore Pools will resume lottery draws and outlet operations from Monday, 22 June 2020.
“Lottery tickets purchased for draws which were postponed after 5 Apr 2020 are valid for the respective upcoming lottery draws.”
The company said 4D Lottery will resume on June 24, TOTO Lottery on June 25 and Singapore Sweep on August 5. Draws will be carried out behind closed doors in the presence of external auditors.
Singapore Pools will implement measures such as enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures, including on-ground assistants, visual signage and public education materials.
To minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission, customers are asked to avoid peak hours and adhere to all safe management measures.
The company said other venues will remain closed.
It said in a statement: “All other outlets such as Singapore Pools’ Livewire venues and Off-course Betting Centres will remain closed, in alignment with the Government’s regulations and guidelines for live betting.
“Customers’ safety and well-being remains our top priority amidst the Covid-19 situation. Singapore Pools encourages all customers, especially high-risk groups, to utilise our online account betting channel as their primary mode of transaction.”
The company recently resumed online operations for horse racing and other sports betting.
