Seoul casinos enter lockdown again

The measure applies to all venues in the metropolitan area, including Incheon.

South Korea.- Casinos located in Seoul’s metropolitan area, including Incheon, have had to cease operations once again due to a new spike in Covid-19 cases.

The measure will impact the foreigner-only casinos Gangnam Coex Seoul, Gangbuk Millennium Seoul Hilton, Paradise Casino Walkerhill Seoul, and Paradise City Casino Incheon.

The decision was made after over 175 cases were reported from November 15 to 21, double the previous week.

The government had already decided last week to tighten restrictions. Since then, venues had only been allowed to continue operations with a 20 per cent capacity limit.

The same limit was applied to horse racing, boat racing and bike racing, which are allowed to take bets from locals.

The new measures also mean the suspension of all horse, bike or boat racing events.

A Paradise City representative confirmed that the complex would to observe the new level 2 restrictions, and had suspended gaming operations.
