Sands China appoints former MGM China president Hubert Wang as COO

Wang left MGM China in December last year.

Macau.- Several media outlets have reported that Sands China has appointed former MGM China president and COO Hubert Wang as its new chief operating officer. Reports cite an internal statement from Grant Chum Kwan Lock, Sands China’s chief executive and president.

Wang will reportedly start in the role from June 1, 2026, and will join the Sands China executive committee. He will oversee gaming and resort operations, market development, international marketing, and loyalty marketing.

Wang departed from MGM China in December 2025, ending a 14-year tenure with the company. At the time, MGM China said Wang was leaving to pursue “personal aspirations”. Kenneth Feng was promoted to CEO.

During his time at MGM China, Wang played a key role in the company’s IPO in 2011, the expansion of MGM Macau and the launch of MGM Cotai in 2018. He also helped steer the company through the Covid-19 pandemic and Macau’s post-pandemic recovery period. Before joining MGM China in 2011 as CFO, Wang did stints at Las Vegas Sands, Caesars Entertainment and Penn National in the United States.
