Sands China ramps up health and safety measures
Casino operator has joined forces with Macau authorities and the Health Bureau to ensure the highest possible standards post Covid-19.
Macau.- Government authorities and the Health Bureau have joined forces with Sands China to launch measures and protocols throughout the company’s integrated resorts to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The initiative has been dubbed “Sands SafeStay” and has already been implemented in all Sands China properties including The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Sands Cotai Central, The Plaza and Sands Macao.
The new measures include “360-degree sanitisation” by using hospital grade disinfectant from Ecolab and Diversey in all public spaces and communal areas including restrooms, meeting and convention spaces, casinos, restaurants, bars, shopping malls and recreational facilities.
Sands said its 12,500 hotel rooms will be a major focus with cleaning and disinfecting protocols radically upgraded including the sterilisation of key cards prior to check-in.
Social distancing measures have been enhanced with the company revealing it has rearranged restaurant tables, slot machines and gaming tables to ensure appropriate space between guests.
Venue capacity for recreational facilities such as the Eiffel Tower, Qube, gondola rides and swimming pools, along with meeting and convention spaces, has been reduced.
The company says it is also encouraging the use of contactless digital payment systems such as Alipay, WeChat Pay and MPay at more than 650 outlets at shopping malls, restaurants, box offices and hotels across its resorts, in order to avoid contact.
