Macau.- The Macau SAR Government is temporarily using hotels for medical observations. This Thursday, authorities announced that the Royal Dragon Hotel in ZAPE will become the 10th hotel-designated.

The hotel will add 144 rooms to quarantine capacity and its casino operations will be suspended.

The Government is temporarily using ten hotels as the venues of medical observations, including Pousada Marina Infante Hotel, Golden Crown China Hotel, Regency Art Hotel, Grand Coloane Resort, Metropole Hotel, Treasure Hotel, San Tung Fong Commercial Inn South Wing, Grand Lapa, Grand Harbour Hotel and Royal Dragon Hotel.

On Tuesday, Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng asked for more resorts to be used as quarantine venues amid the Coronavirus crisis.

“We keep looking for more hotels to be appointed quarantine venues but we can’t contact any hotels within integrated resorts,” the Chief Executive said.

“We don’t want to utilise hotels in integrated resorts until the last minute since it would impact their dining and business operations, but it’s really difficult to find more available hotels at this moment,” added.
