Resorts World Genting extends casino closure until Feb 18

The casino operator has extended its temporary closure in Malaysia until February 18.

Malaysia.- Resorts World Genting (RWG) has extended its temporary closure until February 18 due to Malaysia’s Covid-19 countermeasures.

The closure was originally to run from January 22 until February 4.

The resort said customers with a booking for the affected period can ask for a change of date or refund. Only a few districts in the eastern state of Sarawak have been allowed to return to less restrictive rules.

It said that essential resort-based services at Resorts World Genting, including security, firefighting, utilities and clinics, would remain operational.

According to the Ministry of Health, Malaysia recorded 4,284 new Covid-19 cases in the 24-hour period up to noon on Wednesday. The country has reported  809 deaths from Covid-19.
