PointsBet enters new market in the US
The Australian online bookmaker has expanded into a sixth US state.
Australia.- The Australian online bookmaker, PointsBet, has expanded its mobile app and digital sports betting services to the state of Michigan in the US.
It’s the sixth US state the firms has entered, following New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, and Colorado.
Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, said: “Launching in Michigan is truly a special moment for PointsBet, and presents a tremendous opportunity we are excited to attack alongside our partners in the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.”
PointsBet products will offer sports betting options in the market for every NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL game.
Aitken said the comopany may make further investments in the state following partnerships with the Detroit Pistons, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, and Little Caesars Arena, where it will inaugurate a PointsBet SportsBar in 2021.
Last year, the company went through a key growth period. Pointsbet raised AU$76m (US$53.5m) from its latest entitlement offer.
