Authorities have extended a ban on travellers from 10 countries until the end of August.

The Philippines.- The Philippines government has extended its ban on arrivals from 10 countries until the end of August due to the Covid-19 Delta variant. The 10 countries affected are Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, Oman, Pakistan, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.

Only 10 per cent of the population has been fully vaccinated and hospitals in Manila are nearing full capacity. In the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health reported 14,385 new Covid-19 cases. The current restrictions in Manila are expected to be extended.

Some casinos decided to close from August 6 to August 20 following the guidelines from the Philippine government and PAGCOR.

Resorts World Manila said: “Leisure stays at the hotels as well as dine-in services will be suspended during the lockdown. Most of the restaurants at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Mall and hotels will offer takeaway or delivery instead, during this period.”
