Philippines’ CICC flags 12 Facebook accounts over illegal online gambling promotions
The Philippine cybercrime agency identified 12 Facebook pages and accounts allegedly promoting unregulated gambling websites, including several with millions of followers.
The Philippines.- The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Centre (CICC) has flagged 12 Facebook accounts and pages for allegedly promoting unregulated online gambling websites. The accounts were included in the seventh and final batch of the CICC’s advisory identifying social media influencers and pages allegedly endorsing illegal gambling platforms.
The largest account named by the agency was Never Grow Old 2.0, which has around six million followers. It was followed by Kanene in Florida, with 5.6 million followers, while Boss Nethjan and Brex TV 2.0 each have around 3.2 million. Another account, Magda, was reported to have 1.9 million followers.
The CICC also identified Boss Owa 2.0, Parengtol 5.0, Madam Hannie, Randy Perez Calderon, Kavendor V.2, Daddy JC 4.0 and Leonardo Corpuz. Their reported audiences ranged from approximately 203,000 to 1.5 million followers.
According to the agency, the accounts allegedly promoted several online gambling websites, including 777ny.com, leopardaga.com, sealjl.net, fbb89.com, alicornvip.com, worldcupph.ph, whalejl.fun, santollucky.ph, wolfkingx.com, 78go.com and jllws.com.
Earlier this year, the agency confirmed that Meta had permanently removed the Facebook pages of four high-profile influencers accused of promoting illegal gambling, with the accounts collectively reaching more than 15 million followers. The agency is encouraging the public to report accounts that continue to promote illegal online gambling websites through its 1326 hotline.
