Philippine licensed online gaming firms form PlaySafe Alliance
The initiative aims to create a safe and sustainable online gambling environment.
The Philippines.- As the online gambling sector faces legislative scrutiny, a group of 18 operators licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) have formed the PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines as a unified industry force committed to “elevating standards in regulated online gambling.”
According to the group, the alliance has four pillars: responsible gaming, regulatory integrity, player protection, and the fight against illegal gambling. It will soon establish strategic committees to focus on its core priorities. The founding members also announced plans to onboard an independent advisory panel of local and international experts to provide guidance on responsible gaming regulation, public health, financial technology and consumer advocacy.
DigiPlus Interactive Corporation is a founding member of the alliance. “This alliance is not about competition—it’s about collaboration,” DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco said “By working as one, we can ensure that online gambling in the Philippines becomes more secure, transparent, and beneficial to both players and the nation.”
The initiative comes as The Senate is expected to start committee hearings to explore calls to ban or more tightly regulate online gambling. Lawmakers remain divided over the issue and the Philippine government has stressed that it will not rush into a decision regarding a possible ban.
