Paradise Co appoints Choi Sung-wook as new CEO
Choi Sung-wook has been appointed as CEO to replace Park Byung-ryong, who steps down after four years.
South Korea.- The casino operator Paradise Co. has announced the appointment of Choi Sung-wook as CEO and chairman of the board.
Sung-wook, who has previously served as CEO of the Paradise casino in Busan, will replace Park Byung-ryong for a two-year term.
The new CEO has held other positions at Paradise Co since 2006. He was general manager of Paradise Walkerhill in Seoul until 2015, then vice president of Paradise Casino Busan. In 2019, he was promoted to CEO of Paradise in Busan.
Paradise currently operates four casinos in South Korea – Paradise City, Paradise Walkerhill, Busan Casino and Jeju Grand.
The company has recently reported a full-year net loss of KRW109.85bn (US$98.4m) for 2020.
Paradise Co. also announced February sales were of KRW17.38bn (US$15.5m), a 36.5 per cent drop compared to January, which saw sales of KRW27.3bn (US$24.5m).
