PAGCOR sets January 2027 deadline for smart-table rollout at Manila resorts
The requirement will add electronic gaming data to the surveillance and monitoring systems already used at licensed Philippine casinos.
The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has set January 1, 2027, as the start date for the rollout of smart-table technology at Manila’s Entertainment City integrated resorts. PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco confirmed the timetable during media engagements at G2E in Las Vegas, saying operators will be required to begin converting their existing tables to smart-table systems from that date.
The first phase of the rollout will apply to the four integrated resorts operating in Entertainment City: City of Dreams Manila, Okada Manila, Newport World Resorts and Solaire Resort Entertainment City, which together recorded PHP148.7bn (US$2.4bn) in gross gaming revenue in 2025. No timetable has been set for extending the requirement to casinos in Clark, Cebu or other areas.
The January deadline marks the start of the conversion process not a deadline, although Tengco said some properties have already begun adopting smart-table technology ahead of the requirement. The regulator is preparing to introduce the technology at its own gaming properties, with smart tables and new electronic gaming machines planned for the renovated Casino Filipino in Angeles City.
The system is expected to strengthen the collection and monitoring of gaming-floor data as smart tables can electronically record betting and game information. Baccarat will be the starting point for the rollout, but PAGCOR could extend the technology to other table games at a later stage.
