The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation has donated PHP6.75m (US$118,259) to Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has awarded a PHP6.75m (US$118,259) grant to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC). The donation will be used for the procurement of five neonatal incubators.
The donation, formally turned over on Monday (June 23), was facilitated by Quezon City 3rd District Representative Franz Pumaren. QMMC, a government-run tertiary hospital popularly known, serves thousands of mothers and infants annually, many of whom come from underserved communities.
PAGCOR vice president for corporate social responsibility Ramon Stephen Villaflor led the turnover ceremony at the hospital boardroom. He said: “PAGCOR recognises the vital role that institutions like QMMC play in safeguarding the lives of mothers and newborns. Through this donation, we aim to help ensure access to safer and more efficient medical care, especially among the poor.”

Earlier this week, PAGCOR awarded a PHP100m ($1.7m) grant to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte for the construction of a sports and research facility. The grant will partially finance the Ilocos Norte Sports Institute and Research (INSPIRE) Training Development Center and Dormitory, which will have a total cost of PHP400m. The complex will serve as a hub for high-level athletic training, sports research and athlete housing.
