Osaka to restart IR partner selection process in January
Authorities will resume the request-for-proposal process for the city’s IR bid.
Japan.- Osaka has announced that it will resume the request-for-proposal (RFP) process to find a private partner for its integrated resort bid in January. Authorities will also publish their policy for the IR project.
Japan is to give three licences for integrated resorts with casinos. Proposals from local government proposals will be received by the national government between October 2021 and April 28, 2022.
Last month, the national government published a revised draft of its own IR basic policy, including additional guidelines relating to infectious diseases in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and rules on exchanges between overseas-based casino operators and Japanese government officials.
