Online betting Kazakhstan grows ten fold in one year

Online betting has become the dominant gambling segment in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan.- The Bureau of National Statistics has reported that gambling revenue in Kazakhstan rose 1.9 per cent to a record KZT592.2bn (US$1.26bn) in 2025. While overall growth slowed compared with the previous year, online betting reportedly shot past the land-based gaming sector with a ten-fold rise in revenue.

The segment generated KZT370.5bn (US$780m) in 2025, compared with KZT34.8bn (US$70m) in 2024. As a result, online betting’s share of the gambling market jumped from 6 per cent to 62.6 per cent in just one year.

Meanwhile, traditional gambling activities declined. Land-based casino revenue fell 16.2 per cent to KZT24.9bn (US$52m), while slot machine revenue dropped 17 per cent to KZT4.4bn (US$9.2m).

The market’s ownership structure also changed significantly. Private Kazakh companies accounted for 63.7 per cent of the industry’s total volume in 2025, while foreign operators represented 36.2 per cent. A year earlier, foreign companies held nearly three-quarters of the market.
