Okada Manila promoter appoints new president
Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment Inc. has announced changes on its board, with Byron Yip as new president.
The Philippines.- Casino operator Okada Manila has announced the promotion of Byron Yip as president of its promotions company, Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment Inc., in replacement of Takashi Oya.
According to a press release, Mr Yip was previously responsible for gaming operations, serving as the company’s chief operating officer.
The Philippines-based firm, which operates Okada Manila, is a subsidiary of Japanese conglomerate Universal Entertainment Corp.
Hajime Tokuda, director-in-charge for overseas business at Universal Entertainment, said that the company promoted Mr Yip because of his “remarkable business leadership has led to the phenomenal growth of Okada Manila and made it a leading integrated resort in terms of gross gaming revenue in the Philippines”.
He added: “We thank Mr Takashi Oya who has served as our co-vice chairman and president since March 12, 2019. Mr Oya will pursue his career outside Okada Manila and we wish him and his family all the best.”
Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment has also elected Manuel Lazaro as the company’s chairperson. Takako Okada and Antonio Cojuangco were elected as co-vice chairpersons.
