The licence will now run for another 15 years.

New Zealand.- SkyCity Entertainment Group has announced that the New Zealand Gambling Commission has renewed SkyCity Queenstown’s casino venue licence. According to a company filing on Tuesday, the 15-year-extension is effective from December 7, 2025.

SkyCity chief executive officer Jason Walbridge said: “We’re delighted with this outcome. We look forward to continuing to play our part in Queenstown’s fantastic range of entertainment for both locals and visitors.”

SkyCity Entertainment Group owns and operates casinos, hotels and entertainment facilities in New Zealand and Australia. Last week, it announced has it had taken possession of the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) from Fletcher Construction, marking a milestone in the troubled infrastructure project, which was originally slated for completion in 2020.
