New casino to open in Myanmar in 2024
Thailand’s Centara Hotels & Resorts will include a casino in a new 200-room hotel with a built-in shopping mall.
Myanmar.- Thai hotel operator Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced it will expand its international portfolio with three new properties in Myanmar, one of which will include a casino.
The operator has signed a management agreement for three hotels developed by SL International Construction: Centra by Centara Hotel Thiri Hpa-An, Hpa-An Hilltop Resort & Spa, and Centara Hotel Mandalay.
The three new hotels will bring the number of properties managed by the company in Myanmar to nine.
Centra by Centara Hotel Thiri Hpa-An is scheduled to open in 2021, and Hpa-An Hilltop Resort & Spa, which will be managed under the Centara Boutique Collection brand, in 2022.
Finally Centara Hotel Mandalay is scheduled to open in 2024 as part of a mixed-use project which will also include a shopping mall, office and casino.
The 200-room hotel will feature three restaurants, meeting facilities, fitness centre with swimming pool, and guest recreational facilities.
The operation of foreigner-only casinos in Myanmar was legalised in September 2019.
