Macau.- Melco Resorts & Entertainment has opened REM, a 149-room luxury hotel at City of Dreams Macau, following an invitation-only launch in August. The property introduces a new hospitality concept centred on privacy, bespoke service and sensory experiences.

The grand opening ceremony on October 20 was attended by Melco chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho, Group president Evan Winkler and City of Dreams Macau president Timothy Kelly, alongside celebrities and brand ambassadors.

“At Melco, we have never relied on replicating the past to win the future,” Ho stated. “From developing City of Dreams and creating House of Dancing Water, to building Morpheus, every one of our major counter-cyclical investments has been built on absolute confidence in Macau’s transformation and in a new generation of luxury travellers.”

REM occupies the former Countdown tower, which closed for renovation in 2021. The transformation reduced the property from 330 rooms to 149 rooms and suites across seven categories, including the 1,200-square-metre flagship penthouse, The Lair.
