Macau to quarantine visitors from some areas in Shanghai

Macau authorities have announced stricter border controls for those coming from specific districts in Shanghai and Tianjin.

Macau.- Authorities have announced a mandatory 14-day quarantine for anyone entering the city after being in three districts in Shanghai and Tianjin in the past two weeks.

This new measure comes despite moves to ease border controls for foreigners.

Shanghai reported one new local Covid-19 infection on Monday, with a worker at the Pudong International Airport testing positive.

Tianjin has also imposed new controls after a new local case was detected on Sunday. The patient is a worker at a cold storage facility in the port. Binhai New Area district and the port are now listed as medium-risk areas.
