Visitors entering from Zhuhai now have to show a negative Covid-19 test issued within 24 hours before arrival.

Macau.- Visitors entering Macau from Zhuhai in the neighbouring province of Guangdong must hold a negative nucleic acid Covid-19 test certificate issued within 24 hours prior to arrival. The new measure was imposed on March 18.

The announcement was made by the Macau Novel Coronavirus Response Coordination Centre due to a rise in Covid-19 cases in mainland China. Last week, authorities in China reported 1,226 new cases of domestically transmitted Covid-19 infections. Macau casino operator stocks fell sharply as a result.

China remains the only country with a largely quarantine-free travel bubble with Macau.
