Macau expects between 6 and 10 million visitors in 2021
Macau authorities believe tourism to start to bounce back after Chinese New Year.
Macau.- Macau’s tourism bureau expects the city to receive between 6 and 10 million tourists this year. That compares to 5.9m visitors in 2020.
Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, said that while there were only a few days during January that saw daily visitors exceed 20,000, she expects daily numbers to reach 30,000 by the end of this year.
While the city beginning its vaccination plan yesterday, authorities aim to promote Macau as a safe destination.
According to JP Morgan, Macau can expect to see a recovery from May, in time for the Labour Day break.
