Macau casino operators cut Grand Prix sponsorship by 16.7%

Organisers expect the race meeting to draw international visitors and strengthen Macau’s sports tourism sector.

Macau.- Macau’s six casino operators have committed MOP100m (US$12.5m) to the 73rd Macau Grand Prix, down 16.7 per cent from the MOP120m (US$15m) pledged for the event last year. Announced by the Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee on October 16, the sponsorship arrangements show that the decline comes from Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Wynn Macau both contributing half as much as in 2025 at MOP10m (US$1.25m) each.

MGM China, Sands China, Galaxy Entertainment Group and SJM Resorts will each provide MOP20m (US$2.5m), maintaining their 2025 contributions.

The four-day event will run from November 19 to 22 and feature seven races, including the FIA Formula Regional World Cup, FIA GT World Cup and FIA Formula 4 World Cup. The Macau Guia Race, which concludes the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour season, will have 30 cars, its largest field since 2020.

The FIA GT World Cup will feature an 18-car field representing eight manufacturers: Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes and Porsche. Tickets are on sale for between MOP100 (US$12.50) and MOP1,200 (US$150), depending on the day and viewing location.
