Light & Wonder appoints Palanichamy as Global Systems senior vice president and general manager

Australia.- ASX-listed casino gaming developer Light & Wonder has appointed Muthu Palanichamy as senior vice president and general manager of its Global Systems business, following a 16-year career with the gaming technology supplier. Palanichamy took up the role in August and has already overseen nine competitive systems replacements, including deployments at several casino properties in North America, the company said.
His responsibilities cover the Systems business’s product roadmap, research and development, delivery and operations and customer engagement. He will also oversee the global product strategy for Light & Wonder’s Systems portfolio.
Palanichamy joined Scientific Games in October 2010 as director of technical services before taking on leadership positions across client services, operations and systems research and development. He became Light & Wonder’s vice president of global customer engagement in 2022.
Siobhan Lane, chief executive officer of gaming at Light & Wonder, said Palanichamy’s technical knowledge, operational experience and familiarity with customers made him well suited to lead the Systems business. She added that his 16 years with the company had included a significant role in developing the division and building relationships with employees and customers.
