Incheon plans to expand with Yeongjong resort
The project includes shops, spas, convention centers, luxurious hotels, foreigner-only and theme parks.
South Korea.- Incheon City wants to be one of the leading tourist and cultural locations in Northeast Asia. The Metropolitan City government announced that is planning to grow through the expansion of its casino cluster as part of the Yeongjong-do Integrated Resort Cluster Project.
Yeongjong island, which is located off the West Coast of the city, is already a well-known area because it is the location of the Incheon International Airport. The project includes shops, spas, convention centers, luxurious hotels, foreigner-only and theme parks.
It won’t be the first first foreigners only resort complex in Korea. In 2017, Paradise City opened a 5-star hotel with 711 rooms, the largest foreigners-only casino in Korea, a casino complex and a convention hall that can accommodate 1,600 persons.
Other resorts are also being developed in the region. The Caesars Resort Complex expected to add 700 additional rooms, convention facilities, a live entertainment performing hall, spa, and swimming pool, as well as a foreigners-only casino.
Mohegan Gaming will build a luxury hotel with over 1,250 rooms, foreigners-only casino, indoor and outdoor theme parks and an arena for almost facility 15,000 persons.
