Kangwon Land adds new Southeast Asian travel agency partnerships
Kangwon Land has signed agreements with travel agencies in the Philippines and Vietnam in a bid to boost international visitation.
South Korea.- Kangwon Land Inc has signed agreements with two travel agencies as it aims to boost international visitation. The latest agreements are with Philippine travel agency Leisure Trips Philippines and Vietnam-based Dong Thi Travel. Both will focus on travel packages to promote visits to the resort.
The company plans to make greater use of the visa-free entry system at Yangyang International Airport in Gangwon province. This allows group tourists from the Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia and Indonesia to enter through the airport without a visa.
Kangwon Land has also held discussions with Airmark, the Philippine general sales agent for South Korean airline Aero K, to develop travel products for Filipino tourists arriving at Cheongju International Airport. Flights between Manila and Cheongju are expected to resume in November.
The resort received about 60,000 foreign visitors during the first eight months of 2026, compared with 40,000 in the same period last year. It’s targeting 120,000 foreign visitors for the full year.
