IPI to resume Garapan casino resort construction

Imperial Pacific has announced it will soon resume construction of a new casino in Garapan.

Northern Mariana Islands.- The construction of Imperial Pacific International’s casino hotel in the city of Garapan will resume, according to the company’s vice president for media and public affairs, Tao Xing.

The company has said that all documents have been submitted to the Department of Public Works in order to resume construction.

Mr Xing, said: “The IPI construction team has been actively working with DPW, which has indicated that work can be resumed early next week.

All construction activities at IPI in Garapan ceased after the Department of Public Work (DPW) issued a notice on October 27 informing the company of a violation of the Building Safety Code.

The DPW ordered Imperial Pacific to suspend work until shop drawings and revised plans had been submitted, and to suspend welding work until inspectors had been designated and approved.

Xing said IPI’s construction team has worked with engineers and inspectors who prepared and submitted the required documents to the DPW.
