International Entertainment signs US$9.7m construction deal for Manila casino hotel upgrade
The company continues redevelopment works at its New Coast Hotel Manila property.
The Philippines.- International Entertainment Corporation (IEC) has signed a new construction contract worth PHP566.95m (US$9.7m) for renovation works at its New Coast Hotel Manila. The renovations are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
According to a filing submitted to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the company’s indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, New Coast Leisure Inc. (NCLI), entered into contract with local contractor Kimberland Construction on May 28. The contract covers additional renovation and fitting-out works at the property, including façade lighting, installation of an LED screen for the Pedro Gil canopy, exterior glass replacement, landscaping works, and upgrades to guest rooms and common areas, including ceilings, flooring, plumbing, electrical, fire protection and air-conditioning systems.
The firm took over casino operations at the hotel in May 2024 and has since refurbished the casino floor and several hotel rooms. Under its Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) provisional licence, it is required to commit an investment of no less than US$1bn to Manila casino and hotel operations.
