IBIA reports rise in betting alerts in Q2 2026 while Asia’s share falls
The region recorded just three alerts during the quarter, down from nine in Q1.
UK.- The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) has reported handling 76 suspicious betting alerts in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026. The figure represents an increase from 70 alerts in Q1 2026 and 65 in Q2 2025.
The cases reported in the latest integrity report involved nine sports, with football accounting for the largest share at 25 alerts (33 per cent). Football was followed by esports with 16 reports (21 per cent), basketball with 10 (13 per cent) and tennis with nine (12 per cent).
Asia accounted for just 4 per cent of all alerts, with three cases recorded during the quarter. That represents a decline from nine alerts in Q1, when Asia accounted for 13 per cent of all reports. Cricket generated two of the alerts, linked to events in India and the United Arab Emirates, while the remaining alert concerned a tennis event in Armenia.
Europe generated the largest share of alerts with 33 per cent, followed by South America (22 per cent) and global esports competitions (21 per cent). Africa accounted for 15 per cent, North America 4 per cent and Oceania 1 per cent.
The IBIA says its monitoring network now covers more than 1.5 million sporting events annually across more than 80 sports, analysing betting activity worth over US$300bn each year through its members’ platforms.
