Grand Lisboa Palace becomes Greater China’s first sustained carbon-neutral MICE venue
SJM Resorts has also launched Macau’s first standardised Zero-Carbon MICE Service as part of its sustainability strategy.
Macau.- SJM Resorts has announced that Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau has become the first integrated MICE venue in Greater China to achieve sustained carbon neutrality through the use of high-quality carbon credits. The operator has also launched Macau’s “first standardised Zero-Carbon MICE Service,” designed to expand the resort’s sustainable events offering and support the city’s positioning as a destination for sustainable business events.
SJM hosted the SJM Green MICE Forum and Zero-Carbon MICE Product Launch on September 17, bringing together more than 150 industry leaders and sustainability experts. The event focussed on emerging opportunities linked to green events and the low-carbon economy.
The operator said the initiatives form part of its efforts to “strengthen sustainable MICE development in Macau” and contribute to the city’s ambition of becoming a “leading sustainable events destination in Greater China.”
