Grand Korea Leisure extends Covid-19 closure

As the government prolongs the current level of alert to the end of the month, the company’s Seoul and Busan casinos will remain closed.

South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure has extended the closure of its casinos in Seoul and Busan until at least February 1.

It comes after the national government extended the current Covid-19 level of alert 2.5 until January 31. The casinos had been due to reopen on January 18.

Grand Korea Leisure’s foreigner-only casinos in Seoul, Gangnam COEX and Gangbuk Hilton, suspended operations on November 24. The casino in Busan, Busan Lotte, followed suit on December 1.

The company has increased its estimate of losses from the closure from KRW21.5bn to KRW27.05bn (US$24.5m) based on average daily net sales.
