Genting Malaysia reopens two casinos
Resorts World Kijal and Langkawi will reopen on Thursday.
Malaysia.- Casino and hotel operator Genting Malaysia has announced two of its properties will reopen on Thursday (June 18).
The company published a message on its website announcing the reopening of Resorts World Kijal and Resorts World Langkawi following the Covid-19 lockdown.
Resorts World Genting (RWG) and Resorts World Awana will remain closed until further notice.
All of Genting’s resorts have been closed since Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin issued a movement control order as of March 18, forcing non-essential businesses to halt operations.
On June 7, Muhyiddin said the measures would expire on June 9 and be replaced by a recovery movement control order (RMCO) to run until August 31.
Genting Malaysia therefore bengan to prepare to restart operations to reopen two if its IRs.
