Genting Cruise Lines has revealed it will resume operations from December 22, 2021 offering trip itineraries from Penang.

Malaysia.- Genting Cruises has confirmed it will resume operations of its Star Cruises on December 22, 2021. According to a statement issued by the company, Star Pisces will depart five times a week, providing a one to two nights round-trip itinerary from Penang.

It will initially reduce the number of passengers carried by 50 per cent. All guests and crew members must be fully vaccinated and must provide negative test results before boarding. Genting Cruises said it was the world’s first international cruise company to successfully restart operations when it resumed Dream Cruises in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong in July last year.

The company said: “As part of Genting Cruise Lines, Star Cruises is excited to pioneer safe cruises in Malaysia and to work hand-in-hand with the ministries under the Malaysian government. We hope to call on more Malaysian destinations and to expand our itineraries with the inclusion of regional destinations like Phuket in the near future to spur the cruise tourism industry.”
