Flutter welcomes Australia’s new gambling ad rules
Flutter Entertainment has said the advertising restrictions in Australia strike “the right balance”.
Australia.- Flutter Entertainment has welcomed Australia’s newly announced gambling advertising restrictions, saying the measures provide a balanced regulatory approach that supports player protection and the sustainability of the licensed market. The company said it sees the new framework as a proportionate response to concerns around gambling advertising exposure.
“We believe this strikes the right balance between safeguarding customers and allowing operators to continue offering sports betting products in a responsible way,” it noted.
The comments came as Flutter reported that its APAC business posted organic revenue growth of 2 per cent during the first quarter, driven largely by Sportsbet’s performance in Australia. The company said it believes it is “well placed to build on its market-leading position” in the country.
