Delta Corp profit drops in Q3
Net profit was down 53 per cent year-on-year.
India.- Delta Corp has shared its financial results for the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26. The company posted a net profit of US$2.14m for the quarter, representing a decline of 53 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to its unaudited financial results.
Revenue from operations on a standalone basis fell to US$12.99m, compared with US$16.55m a year earlier. On a consolidated basis, Delta Corp reported a profit after tax of US$1.57m for the quarter ending December 31, down sharply from US$7.03m in the corresponding period last year. Consolidated revenue from operations stood at US$17.66m, compared with US$20.59m in the preceding quarter, underscoring sustained pressure across both its gaming and hospitality segments.
One of the most significant factors affecting the company’s financials during the period was the enactment of India’s Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025. The legislation, which prohibits real-money online gaming, has forced Delta Corp to reassess the value of its investments in online gaming entities. As a result, the company recorded a substantial cumulative reduction in the fair value of these investments through Other Comprehensive Income (OCI), reflecting the diminished prospects for the segment under the new regulatory framework.
In addition to regulatory changes, Delta Corp continues to face unresolved tax-related challenges. The company and certain subsidiaries have received show-cause notices from Indian authorities regarding alleged short payment of Goods and Services Tax (GST) for the period between July 2017 and November 2022, amounting to over US$255.8m. Management has stated that it remains confident of a favourable legal outcome and has not made any provisions in the current financial results in relation to these claims.
Delta Corp said it will continue to focus on its physical casino and hospitality businesses while navigating the evolving regulatory landscape that is reshaping India’s gaming industry.
