India.- Authorities have decided to extend Covid-19 countermeasures in Goa and Sikkim until June 14. Casinos in Goa and Sikkim will remain closed and only essential services will continue to be allowed

Restrictions in Goa were expected to end on June 7, but India’s Ministry of Health has reported 92,291 cases in the last 24 hours. That marks a drop on last week, but the rate of infection remains high.

Casinos in Goa have been closed since April 29. Last month, Delta Corp asked authorities for a waiver on licence fees due to the impact on its venues.

It reported that it is debt-free and has adequate liquidity available to comply with its liabilities and obligations, but management asked the state government of Goa for a reduced payment mechanism for its casino licence fees for the period from April 2020 to October 2020.
