Australia’s Lottery Corporation appoints new CEO
Wayne Pickup will replace Sue van der Merwe as MD and CEO.
Australia.- The Lottery Corporation has announced the appointment of Wayne Pickup as managing director and chief executive officer. Pickup will join the company on November 24, 2025 and will assume the role of MD and CEO following receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals.
Pickup, who will be based in Brisbane, will succeed Sue van der Merwe, who announced her retirement on March 24, 2025, after a 35-year career in lotteries, including three years leading The Lottery Corporation.
Pickup spent seven years as the CEO of global lottery operator Allwyn’s North American operations. Prior to his role at Allwyn, Pickup was CEO of Lotto New Zealand.
