France.- Entertainment software company Atari SA is planning to launch its crypto casino in partnership with Decentral Games in May
The casino will be built in Vegas City in Decentral’s Decentraland metaverse and will make use of Ethereum blockchain.
The metaverse allows consumers to control an avatar that interacts in the virtual world.
The casino will include Atari-theme games and Atari non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which can be used to earn more digital currency.
According to a statement from the companies, they expect the virtual casino to see bets of $150m in 2021 and $400m over two years.
Atari’s CEO Frederic Chesnais said the move would help the French gaming company to modernise and increase its relevance.
He said: “Through collaborating with Decentral Games, we can move the Atari gaming experience onto the blockchain.”
