ACMA blocks two more illegal gambling sites
The Australian regulator says the sites violated the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested that online service providers (ISPs) block two more unlicensed online gambling sites. It says its investigations found the sites to be operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The sites are Casea and Crown96.
Since the ACMA made its first blocking request in November 2019, 1,788 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked. Over 230 illegal services have also pulled out of the Australian market since the ACMA started enforcing new illegal online gambling rules in 2017.
Earlier this year, ACMA announced its compliance and enforcement priorities for 2026–27. It says implementation of Australia’s gambling advertising reforms will be one of its main regulatory focuses over the next year. The regulator said the priorities target areas where stronger industry compliance is needed to better protect consumers, with gambling advertising singled out as one of its five key enforcement areas for the coming year. Alongside the announcement, the ACMA published its 2025–26 Compliance Priorities Outcomes Report, highlighting the results of its regulatory work over the past year.
