Gambling advertisement to be restricted in Armenia

The Finance Minister presented amendments to the advertisement law to restrict gambling in Armenia.

Armenia.- The government of Armenia approved the amendments to the advertisement law presented by Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan. These amendments establish that restrictions will be imposed on gambling advertisements online.

The amendments propose a gambling commercial prohibition on websites for kids and teenagers. It also bans advertisements on educational, medical and social websites, ARKA News Agency reported, in a move to restrict gambling in Armenia.

Furthermore, the amendments also propose time restrictions: commercials aired on TV and radio channels will only be okay between 10 pm and 6 am, while the total duration of the advertisement can’t exceed four minutes.

The Finance Minister also said that the commercial can be up only three times within one hour. The commercial also should limit its duration to 90 seconds. The administrative fine for not complying with this law will start at €1.7k.
