Arkansas Lottery closes claim centre due to Covid-19
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery closed its claim centre until further notice after evidence of Covid-19 transmission at the site.
US.- The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has temporarily closed a lottery claim centre after evidence of Covid-19 transmission at the site.
ASL Director Bishop Woosley said in a press release: “Out of an abundance of caution, we are temporarily closing the Claim Center so it can be disinfected”.
It is unclear how transmission of the virus occurred or who was potentially exposed.
The lottery did not said how long the centre will be closed. Players looking to claim prizes greater than US$500 will have to mail in their winning ticket or wait until the claim centre reopens.
The ASL said it would mail players cheques for winnings once claims are verified. Players that win prizes of US$ 500 or less can still claim them at official lottery retailers.
Woosley said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this closure may cause, but the health and well-being of our employees and players is of utmost importance. We hope to re-open as soon as possible.”
