Arizona tribe to expand casinos
The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is expanding its two facilities, Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun.
US.- The Pascua Yaqui Tribe revealed that it will expand both of its casinos located in the Tucson area, in Arizona. The Council of the tribe approved the expansion of the hotel rooms and convention space, among other things, in October.
Robert Valencia, Chairman of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, said: “The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is honored to have the opportunity build new accommodations and meeting spaces for guests who visit our properties. These additions will create more jobs and will positively impact our Tribe, its members, and Southern Arizona as a whole.”
The new hotel is set to be located next to the current Casino Del Sol venue and is estimated that will feature a 150 room hotel. The conference center will also undergo a 9600 square foot expansion and will include additional rooms to complement the existing space.
Casino of the Sun, the other facility from the tribe, is also expecting a new 11.000 square foot Event Center that will act as a space for further entertainment. “The overwhelming support we have received since the opening of Casino Del Sol has resulted in our current hotel being at near-full capacity most nights,” said CEO of Casino Del Sol, Kimberly Van Amburg. “This project will allow us to meet the increased demand of our customers as well as better serve our meeting and convention clientele.”
