Another director resigns from Wynn Resorts

Wynn Resorts goes through another structural change as director Ray Irani resigns.

US.- Wynn Resorts’ board of directors is facing several changes after founder and president of the company Steve Wynn’s resigned following sexual allegations made against him. Now the company has been further shaken by the resignation of Ray Irani from the board of casino group, announced yesterday with immediate effect.

Although Irani has not revealed the reasons he has decided to leave the casino company, the director’s move could be related to the structural changes Wynn is going through after the sexual allegations emerged.

Furthermore, yesterday’s filing by Wynn Resorts said that another board member, Alvin Shoemaker, would not stand for re-election when his term is due to expire at the group’s 2019 annual meeting of stockholders.  “The company thanks Messrs Irani and Shoemaker for their service to the company and its stockholders,” the company stated.

The scandal began earlier this year when former employees of Wynn claimed he’d displayed inappropriate sexual behaviour in front of them, while a manicurist told the Wall Street Journal that he forced her to have sex in his office. Steve Wynn’s position as CEO of the company has been taken over by Matt Maddox, who has been president of Wynn Resorts since 2013.
