AGCO updates lottery policies
The regulator has removed the cap on seller commission for Paper Raffles and Media Bingo.
Canada.- The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has updated some of its lottery policies. The updates include removing the cap on seller commission for Paper Raffles and Media Bingo, and removing the prohibition on Catch the Ace paper lotteries.
AGCO said charities can now negotiate commissions directly with sellers and determine commissions. Along with the updates, AGCO reminded charity gaming facilities that they must still receive approval for other expenses incurred under their licence and retain receipts for seller commission paid. Charities are still subject to audits to determine compliance.
The AGCO has also issued a statement reminding all licensed land-based casino operators and charitable gaming facility operators that any promotion, bonus, or credit advertised as “free” must meet the standard’s requirements.
