The association revealed that the sector experienced a 3.4 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue last year.

US.- The American Gaming Association (AGA) has released its 2018 ‘State of the States: The AGA Survey of the Commercial Casino Industry’, in which it details the commercial casino market performance across 24 states of the US.

As the association showed, commercial gaming generated US$40.2 billion in revenue during last year’s operations, and states collected a total of US$9.2 billion in revenue from commercial gaming taxes.

Moreover, 20 commercial casino states showed a revenue rise in 2017, and AGA explained that it shows strong macroeconomic trends and sustained job growth in most parts of the country. AGA estimates that the casino industry in the United States is worth approximately US$261 billion.

Stacy Papadopoulos, interim chief executive of AGA, said: “This year’s report demonstrates the commercial gaming industry’s role as a job creator and revenue generator in states across the country, and we’re proud of the industry’s steady growth over the past few years.”
